Curtis Yanito grew up near the San Juan River in southwest Utah, surrounded by the culture and traditions of his people, the Dii g’ na dil (Navajo), and the ancient history and art of an a sazi(Pueblo Ancestors.) Curtis is largely self-taught, and his works include pottery,painting, graphic design, poetry, and book illustration. He is inspired by the teachings of his parents and grandparents, along with his own his own spirituality. Each piece is executed with the intention of prayer. Curtis now resides in Bluff, Utah with his family.
