Dance of Sun and Moon, by Jerry McKellar
Plains Indian Legend of Sun and Moon: Sun made a daily journey across the horizon to the West where he entered his lodge to pass the night. Moon, his wife, also dwelt in Sun’s Lodge, but they would only see each other in passing each morning and evening.
ALTHOUGH OUR TIME TOGETHER IS FLEETING,
OUR LOVE IS DEEP AND EVERLASTING…
The bronze sculpture, “Dance of Sun & Moon” by Jerry McKellar
is his interpretation of this Native American Legend.
Primarily a self-taught artist, Mckellar’s vivid imagination combined with input from life experiences, travel and nature influenced his creative spirit. His education at the University of Washington dental school provided him with extensive studies of facial and human anatomy that has helped greatly in sculpting the human body.
As an accomplished and inventive artist, he is constantly expanding his style and subject matter. Many monumental and Life-Size sculptures have been installed in public and private collections.
Contemporary sculpture with a unique patina in a stone appearance.
