JR Eason J.R. Eason sculpts what she knows best - people and their universal emotions. In doing this, she draws from her own well of emotion and finds it unnecessary to rely on photos or any means outside of her “self”.

Eason’s sculpture is easily recognized. With each piece, representational or stylized, the viewer is immediately drawn to the face. Here, you see and feel the emotion and relate to the message the artist portrays. Her unique, stylized form lends an earthiness that maximizes the subject of the piece.

Be it Native American, cross-cultural women, or the cowboy, her personal style reflects her motto - for indeed her work is “pure art from her heart...and mind’s eye.”

DAMN RAIN
Rain – a necessity of life on earth, often
appearing rebuked.
Golf – a game, though unnecessary, has haunted
me, it seems, since birth.
Neither, alas, is within my control,
and both being… a part of my soul.
Each being a bet of its own,
each having a goal… unknown.
My caddie, also my foreman, serves as my right
hand. He feels the frustration of both “rain and
the game”, knowing the outcome can never be
‘planned’. So… here we are, we bet on a game,
but the winner today… yet again…

I feel that to you, I am a comfortable old shoe…
You are fond of me, care about me, for I’ve been around a long time,
But to you, this old shoe is no longer in its prime.

To you, I am a memory of something once adored,
You became used to the shoe, and then, became bored.
You show me no passion, or desire, or lust,
You found that elsewhere – new shoes are a must.

I mistakenly thought I would always be new,
That I would always be your favorite shoe,
Everything changes, perhaps I have too,
It’s time to recycle, and again…be new.
